On the first Monday Message to Members of 2018, I have several essential items to share. First, I hope all of you enjoyed a great holiday season and happy new year!

The Saving Private Practice Consortium 2.0 is less than 90 days away! The event is designed to help physicians in private practice discover meaningful solutions to often debilitating problems, such as over documentation, reimbursement, contract management, staffing, regulatory, legal, financial, banking, online reputation management, IT and much more. The event is free for physicians and their office staff and will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 9 AM  to 4 PM at the LA Hotel Downtown. To register, please click here.

It’s flu season and clinics, hospital ERs, and physician offices are overwhelmed with patients. I will be talking with the Department of Public Health today to identify ways to support physicians and patients during this crisis.

Congratulations to Dr. Babak Azizzadeh with La Peer Health Systems, one of LACMA’s premier group partners, for receiving the Castle Connolly Top Doctors award for 2017! Each year Castle Connolly puts together a list of the most trusted physicians in America to help consumers find the best healthcare providers. All nominations for this list are submitted by board-certified physicians electing their peers. See the post here.

So, what’s in store for 2018?

Continued efforts to support members and attract new members through outreach, campaigns, signature events, a smarter benefits portfolio and customized services for larger entities are all on the list for the year. We are always looking for new companies that can provide meaningful solutions for our members. Companies like athenahealth, Tigertext, WestPac Wealth Partners, Curbside Real Estate, WorkWise Law, American Career College, Four Seasons Resorts, McKenna BMW, HealthGrid, and many more, provide exclusive benefits for members. Please visit our website to access partners or contact me directly with questions, ideas and suggestions. Please also be sure to follow us on social media to get the latest practice updates and tips!

Gun violence continues to be a challenge throughout the state and particularly in Los Angeles County. CMA has launched a resource center for physicians when dealing with the consequences of gun violence. Click here to learn more.
